Forkful #17: A Piece of Italian Countryside

While the foodie on your list would certainly love a Tuscan villa for Christmas, that’s not exactly what I’m getting at. How about the next best thing – the “adoption” of an Italian olive tree? Nudo, a company located in the La March region of Italy, offers this cool new idea. For $150 a year (includes shipping), the lucky adopter gets four 500mL tins of their tree’s first cold press extra virgin oil in mid-April and three half-size tins of infused (lemon, chile and orange) oil in the fall, plus a personalized certificate, information about their tree and an open invite to “visit, hug or water the tree in person.”
