Hello and welcome! We are Byron and Elise Kern, two foodies looking for a productive hobby. We love to cook, and we love to share food knowledge. And we both have work experience in the food industry (Whole Foods Market, Kraft Foods, and various crappy restaurant jobs…). So we decided to start a food blog to share the fun things we make and do. Our plan is to not only share recipes we (and our buddies) have made and enjoyed, but also restaurant reviews, in-depth analysis of various ingredients, local listings of food classes and great boutiques, and what we think is missing from a lot of food blogs – what’s going on in the food industry. Because yes we love to cook from scratch, but seriously we can’t do it every day. So we, like the rest of you, often rely on what the food industry puts out.

From our perspective, the really great thing about this blog is that it will not only generate ideas, but also justify our cooking show habit…  As Jaques Pepin says: “Happy Cooking!
