Forkful #16: Stick a Shopping Manager on Your Fridge

So I admit, I’m not always the best about making grocery lists (or remembering to take them with me). And then, when I do make a list I usually do it right before I walk out the door, and chances are I forget something I realized we needed a day or two earlier. What’s worse, once I get to the grocery store the list isn’t organized in any helpful way; it’s just in the order I thought of things. All in all, not a successful endevor usually; in fact, there’s hardly ever a time when we go grocery shopping without realizing later that we forgot an item or two.

Well here’s a very promising gadget for helping alleviate some of those shopping woes: the SmartShopper grocery list organizer. It’s a hot new item that has shown up on The Rachel Ray Show, The Today Show and others. Magnetically sick it on your fridge, then just press a button and say the name of the item to add to the list and it does it for you (built-in voice recognition software – how cool is that?). It has a thermal printer built in to print your completed list, and it never needs ink or toner (though you will need to occasionally replace the paper rolls).

In addition to the regular version, there is also a SmartShopper Deluxe, which can maintain two grocery lists at once, can categorize your lists by grocery aisle, and also can be used as a kitchen timer.
